Gilgamesh is the legendary King of Uruk and one of the most powerful Heroic Spirits summoned in the Fate Grand Order universe. In the anime *Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia*, set in B.C. 2655 Mesopotamia, he commands the fortress city of Uruk as the frontline for the battle against Demonic Beasts. Using the Holy Grail both as a power source for his weapons and defenses and to summon the seven Heroic Spirits who aided him, he reinforced the city's fortifications and assembled its defenders. Known as the King of Heroes, his presence defines humanity's last defense amid chaos and terror, with the three Goddess alliance roaming the land and attacking people and towns.

He took on the role of a mage and summoned heroic spirits to protect his city. Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash Kyrielight, having traveled to six previous Singularities, now depart for this most dangerous destination: a civilization in the Age of Gods, B.C. 2655 Mesopotamia.
