Lore & Background

The Time Temple was created from Solomon's Magic Circuits by the collective will of the 72 Demon Gods, which were originally created by Solomon as familiars. After Solomon's death, this collective will—Goetia—evolved into Beast I and possessed Solomon's corpse in preparation for the Incineration of Humanity. The Temple exists outside time and space, and Goetia waited there until the year 2016. Within the Temple, Goetia planned to use the energy from incinerating all life across 3000 years to recreate the planet from its very origin, creating a new world without death. The real Solomon, having been summoned by Marisbury Animusphere in the first Fuyuki Holy Grail War and wishing to become human after the war, revealed himself as Romani and used his tenth ring to cast Ars Nova, returning all his gifts to God and causing the Temple to begin collapsing.

In Their Own Story

As Ritsuka and Mash Rayshift to the final Singularity, they witness a vision of someone who cannot bear humanity's endless suffering due to their clairvoyance. This being decides to destroy humanity and recreate the planet from true nothingness. Upon arriving at the Time Temple, Lev Lainur Flauros appears and transforms into his Demon God form, attacking Chaldea alongside seventy-one other Demon Gods. Jeanne D'Arc arrives, using Ritsuka as a beacon to summon an army of Heroic Spirits who open a path. At the Throne, 'Solomon' reveals himself as Goetia, who plans to create a world without death. Mash is incinerated by Goetia's third Noble Phantasm, Ars Almadel Salomis, but Romani arrives as the real Solomon and casts Ars Nova, weakening Goetia. Ritsuka defeats Goetia with a punch empowered by a Command Spell, and a revived Mash saves Ritsuka as the Temple collapses.
